Blending, bubbles, propolis too!
Day Serum is a product that most Mahina Skincare buffs can't live without. It absorbs quickly making it a favorite in humid and tropical weather as well as dry heat or rain! It is deeply hydrating because it contains organic cold pressed oils. Day Serum also provides antibacterial qualities making it a favorite indulgence before applying your daily SPF.
When I make this stuff, I make it with love. I just looove putting these ingredients together slowly, one by one and experiencing the scents and textures of each item added.
It all starts with fresh organic aloe gel.. aloe was regarded by the Ancient Egyptians as the "plant of immortality". It eases the negative effects of sun exposure, aids in minimizing scars, and it helps to battle the signs of aging. Throughout the seasons, the aloe gel can change its tint from almost clear to a caramel color so Day Serum's hue can change throughout the year.
I add organic cold pressed and fractionated coconut oil. This coconut oil is not the kind you find in the jar at Trader Joe's. Although that coconut oil is just as wonderful for your skin, I prefer to add fractionated coconut oil as it retains its liquid state. It has an incredible balance of natural saturated fatty acids not found in other oils. Kukui nut oil is added. The kukui nut tree is the official tree of Hawaii and the kukui nut has been utilized by Hawaiians for hundreds of years. It contains super high levels of lineoeic and alpha linoleic acids.. think Omega 3's... Evening primrose is added also. Evening Primrose Oil contains a high concentration of a fatty acid called GLA and it is this fatty acid that is largely responsible for the healing properties of the plant. Evening Primrose contains one of the highest concentrations known of GLA and only a few other plants contain it at all.
I slowly add Kauai coffee and cinnamon blend hydrosol. This hydrosol is hand crafted on Kauai and adds a lovely scent and purpose. The coffee and cinnamon do an excellent job of stimulating the surface of the skin and providing a youthful glow. Vitamin E is added for extra healing benefits. McPhee's Bees bee propolis is dropped in to add raw bee nutrition and antibacterial qualities. Day Serum is finished with a natural Pikake scent in a jojoba carrier. This amazing product is readily absorbed into the skin, providing tissues the essential elements that it needs and is particularly good for dry skin, psoriasis, acne and eczema.
